    Flash memory is a type of memory similar to PROMS (Programable Read Only Memory) that does not need any power to retain its data.  Therefore if the battery runs completely out the Flash memory retains its information.  This can be proven by unplugging the AVTS unit and removing the battery.

I would suspect that the simple answer would be "yes", but could someone give me a more detailed answer?  I looked through the list archives for information but was unable to find it.
